Don’t get worried, get the data

Truth: Not as many people signed up for this session of my coaching program as I had hoped.

Which means I totally failed.

Right?

Four or five years ago that is exactly how I would have felt. I set out to hit a number, I didn’t get there, I failed.

But now, after closing open enrollment, I don’t assess whether I succeeded or failed, I assess the DATA.

  • How many people joined the wait list

  • How many people looked at the application vs applied

  • How many people emailed/DMed about the program

  • How many people opened my emails

  • How many people purchased

Because saying “Yay, I succeeded” or “Damn, I failed” is worthless.

In both cases some things worked and some things didn’t, so instead, I celebrate all the work I put in, the rad students that invested in themselves and in me, and then I go through the data and make notes for what to do differently next time.

It's pretty hard to fail and keep moving forward, but learning, that will DRIVE you.
