Stop comparing yourself to others on social media
Today we gotta talk about comparison.
Because I doubt any solopreneur is able to avoid scrolling through Instagram and comparing their business to others. Their photos, their captions, their ideas, their products...
Sometimes comparison isn’t so bad if it shows us what’s possible and lights a fire under us, but sometimes...it’s completely defeating.
And that’s when we tell ourselves the big business lie...
👉🏻 They have something that makes them special and able to succeed that you don’t.
So today I’m here to tell you (and that little voice inside your head) that it is total garbage.
There isn’t anything they HAVE or ARE that is allowing them to succeed while keeping you where you are. There’s no magic beans or special sauce.
And every day we open Instagram and make excuses for why they are getting customers, clients, better photos, better skin, cuter outfits, more opportunities...we are holding ourselves back with bullshit excuses.
I know it’s a little harsh but it’s true and I don’t want you dragging yourself down like that.
Here’s why:
1 ➞ You have NO IDEA what’s going on behind the scenes.
How long it’s taken, how much they’re making, who they’ve hired, how many courses they’ve purchased, who is taking their photos, how many late nights and ugly cries, and how much they’ve hated the way they look, the way they sound, the way they write.
Every idea about what they’ve gone through to get that success is made up in your head. (Don’t feel bad, we all do it - our brain is programmed to create stories)
2 ➞ Focusing on all the things you imagine they have that you don’t GIVES YOU PERMISSION to stay small.
Yes - you are giving yourself permission every time you think “They have that and I don’t” And the truth is - if you don’t have it right now, YOU CAN GET IT.
You can create and cultivate anything you want.
