How to get comfy being the face of your business

Want to know how I got more comfortable showing up on VIDEO and being the face of my business?

It definitely wasn’t because I had great public speaking skills.

I was always the kid in class panicking every time the teacher said the word “presentation”. I was the kid barely speaking loud enough for the first row to hear. I was the kid who wanted to stay home sick trying to put it off for just one more day.

This meant creating video and going live for my business were the LAST things I wanted to do. But so many people were talking about their engagement and success I knew I had to try.

A still of my first attempt years ago…

So I made videos to go on my blog, hopped on Periscope and sweated my way through my first live, and recorded a set of videos for my first course...and then re-recorded them all 8 weeks later because # AWKWARD.

At the same time I was starting to teach aerial silks classes. 4 people here, 10 there, all needing to hear my instructions loud and clear to keep them safe.

It wasn’t immediate, but video after video, class after class I started to feel more comfortable. I also started to see my students having success, started to hear from my audience more often, and started to see my revenue grow.

So I kept going until I was no longer nervous about showing up. I no longer felt like butterflies might turn into barf. I no longer needed 2 hours to prepare for a 20 minute live.

Which is crazy to me that after all that anxiety I, Sarah Morgan, am a GREAT public speaker 🤯

This means you could rock at public speaking too. The sooner you start the faster it gets easier!
